人大附中通州校区讯（范译丹）9月22日清晨，人大附中通州校区全校700余名学子和学校领导、班主任、科任老师们，在专业导游的讲解陪同下，井然有序地乘坐大巴车前往国子监、孔庙和故宫，展开了为期一天的实践活动。

In the morning of the 22nd of September, more than 700 students and school leaders, teachers of Tongzhou Campus, under the guidance of professional tour guides, sequentially took the buses to the Imperial College, the Beijing Confucian Temple and the Palace Museum to go for a one-day practice activity.

语文、英语、政治、历史、地理等科任老师，提前为不同年级的同学们准备了“学科任务单”。任务单围绕着孔子的事迹与思想、国子监的文化内涵以及故宫的历史等话题展开，既有学习的深度，又趣味盎然，让同学们带着兴趣和思考进行活动，在实践中进行学习、加深体会和感受。

Teachers from the Chinese, English, politics, history and geography departments assigned “To-Do-Lists” in advance for students of different grades. These tasks included topics of Confucius’ deeds and thoughts, the cultural connotations of the Imperial College, and the history of the Palace Museum, involving in-depth learning of great interest, aiming at promoting students’ knowledge and deepening their experience and feelings during the practice.

上午9时许，老师和同学们到达了国子监和孔庙。国子监又称“太学”，是元明清三代国家设立的最高学府和教育行政管理机构，历史悠久，文化内涵深厚。通过导游的解说，同学们了解了国子监的历史和作用和我国古代的教育管理制度，同时他们对学习重要性的认识也得到了进一步的加深。

At 9 o’clock, teachers and students arrived at the Imperial College and the Beijing Confucian Temple. The Imperial College, known as “Taixue” in Chinese, was the highest educational institution and administration organ of education set up by the state during the three dynasties of Yuan, Ming and Qing, with a long history and deep cultural connotations. Through the tour guides’ explanations, the students learned the history and function of the Imperial College and the ancient education and administration system of our country, meanwhile their awareness of the importance of learning was also greatly increased.

按照我国古代“左庙右学”的教学规制，同学们穿过国子监东侧的持敬门，来到了孔庙。孔庙是元明清三朝统治者尊孔崇儒的圣地，也是众多读书人的向往之地。在孔庙里，同学们参拜了孔子的塑像，激发了他们热爱中华优秀传统文化的兴趣；近距离观察了进士碑林，越过时空的距离体会了金榜题名的荣耀；听说了神奇的“触奸柏”的故事，培养了他们的浩然正气与忠诚正直的品格。

In accordance with the ancient Chinese teaching regulation of “a temple on the left and a school on the right”, the students walked across the Chijing Gate in the east of the Imperial College to get to the Beijing Confucian Temple. The Confucian Temple was the place where memorial ceremonies were held for Confucius during the Yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties, and it was also a pligrimage destination for most scholars. In the Confucian Temple, the students visited the statue of the Confucius, which inspired their love for and interest in the Chinese traditional culture; they closely observed the stone tablets of Jinshi (advanced scholars), from which the students experienced the glory and pride of their success in the imperial examinations across time and space; they heard the magic story of “a cypress that can identify the treacherous”, which cultivated their noble, loyal, and upright characters.

中午12时，同学们兴致勃勃地来到了故宫。同学们在班里提前分好了小组，每个小组都接到了一道“密函”。“密函”里有一张故宫的地图和若干张照片，同学们根据提示，找到照片中的实物，展开了一场别开生面的“寻宝活动”。照片中的内容包括了文物、牌匾、墙壁、对联等，既考察他们细心观察的能力，又增强了同学们之间的团队合作精神和能力。

At noon, the students went to the Palace Museum with great excitement. They were divided into different groups in advance and each group received a “confidential letter.” There were a map and some photos in the “confidential letter,” and then the students went for a special “treasure hunt” to find all physical objects based on the hints. The contents of these photos include artifacts, plaques, walls, and couplets of poetry, not only testing their ability to observe carefully, but also enhancing their spirit of teamwork and their ability to work together.

下午2时，同学们结束了本次实践活动，带着满满的收获返回了学校。

纸上得来终觉浅，绝知此事要躬行。通过本次实践活动，同学们增长了知识，培养了学习的能力，增加了对我国优秀传统文化的兴趣和认同。相信他们会将本次实践的收获与书本知识相结合，在学习的道路上不断取得进步。

Practice goes deeper than theoretic knowledge. Through this practice, the students have gained knowledge, developed learning ability, and increased their interest in and identity of Chinese traditional culture. We hope that they will combine knowledge from books with the practical gains of this experience and make continual progress in their future studies.
